“O, to take what we love inside,
to carry within us an orchard, to eat
not only the skin, but the shade,
not only the sugar, but the days, to hold
the fruit in our hands, adore it, then bite into
the round jubilance of peach.”

—Li-Young Lee, From Blossoms

About Us

Behind White Peach Press is a brother and sister team with a shared passion for storytelling. For a long time, we worked on our separate crafts alone, hoping that our creative paths might lead to a collaboration someday. Then, in 2019, Kyle began photographing in locations that reminded him of our parents’ hometown in Alabama, and Leah knew he was tapping into a deep well of family history. She began writing in response to his images, and we realized that, together, we were able to create something neither of us could have created on our own.

Our first projects were scrappy little zines held together with staples and rubber bands, but we loved them in their imperfection. Once we discovered that people enjoyed reading them as much as we enjoyed making them, we decided to learn the art of bookmaking.

We fell in love with the process when we made our first artist’s book, and we knew our collaboration would be a lasting one. Oxford Gothic not only introduced us to the book arts, it also introduced us to other photographers, book makers, and writers. Slowly, a community formed, one that continues to inspire us as we explore new ways to tell stories rooted in shared memory.

We don’t know where the journey will take us next, but we know that White Peach Press will always do things the slow way. After all, the sweetest peaches are the ones that hang longest in the sun.
